Vattakottai (Circular Fort): Vattakottai fort was constructed in 8th Century under the administration of Captaincy of Eustachius De Lannoy, to protect the Travancore kingdom. The rectangular fort is made up granite stones, that spread s over an area of 3 1/2 acres.
Vattakottai Fort is located in the taluk of Agasteeswaram tha is situated approximately 7 km away from Kanyakumari.
Udayagiri Fort: Udayagiri fort have created a historical milestone in the integral part of the defense of Tranvancore King. During that time it was a foundry for manufacturing guns, mortars and cannon balls. Initially, it was constructed in the year of 1660 and then re-constructed in 1741 by Travancore King Marthanda Varma.
